Those expert in environment suggest that the best minimum size for a pile to be composted is at least 1 cubic meter, though it can be smaller or bigger. The bin can be filled with various mixture that should be balanced. Mix the different materials in the bin so that they can be mixed with each other easily. But, don’t gather many the same component since it quickly become anaerobic. Turn the pile in regular ways, like once or in a week or two. But don’t compost these items: meat, bines, fish, plastic, oil/fat, pet or human feces, weeds, diseased plants, nappies, glossy paper, coal/coke ash, and cat litter for the sake of health and hygiene.
