So, you just recently bought a bathroom fan and want to get it installed by yourself? Then let’s roll to see the easy steps to install bathroom fan.
a. Determining the place where you want to get the fan installed
This is will depend on your bathroom whether it’s new or not. If you replace an old fan then this makes everything even easier since all you need to do is to put the new fan at the old point where the old fan was placed. But if your bathroom is brand new and there is no place of the old fan, then you can get it placed to a ceiling joist. You can get this located using a device called stud sensor or you may also pick your own method to get this done.
b. Turning off the circuit breaker and getting masking tape over it
This is the next thing that should be done so that your bathroom fan installation will be completed perfectly. Of course you don’t want something bad to happen if you don’t get the circuit turned off right?
c. Get a hole cut in the ceiling
This hole must be larger than the finished opening. This is aimed for getting the fan attached to the joints for support as well as housing it into the ceiling. If you want to apply a good method, you can get a rotary cutting tool used. You can also use drywall saw or a rotozip if you cannot find any rotary cutting tool. When performing this step, make sure you won’t cut any electrical wire (if there is any). Don’t forget to protect yourself too by wearing protective clothes and goggles as well as a dust mask. If you really doubt of how to do this project well, then asking a help from friend won’t hurt you.
