To give a smooth finish to your house without the complicated mess associated with plaster, you can use drywall, or Sheetrock. Sheetrock has moderate strength. It is long lasting, if installed properly. If you want to install it, Use proper lifting technique to help you carry it, because this sheet is really heavy. Here is how to install Sheetrock.
You will need, safety glasses, tape measure, pencil, drywall square, utility knife, second Philips ti adapter, electric screw gun, and 1 3/8 inch drywall. First, wear the safety glasses. Measure the distance between the studs on the wall or ceiling where the Sheetrock you will install with a measuring tape. It will be on either 16 or 24 inch center line. Measure out 48 inches from wall corner or ceiling with measuring tape. You wil need to cut the sheet to 30 inches, if the last stud center you passed is 30 inches from wall corner. Measure all the place you need to measure and do not forget to mark it if necessary. Pull the Sheetrock square and pencil along it to mark the cut width.
Set it and cut it with blade along the line you drew. Hit the backside of the score line to snap the drywall. Cut the drywall to width. Make the cut you need. Secure the Phillips tip adapter into the electric screw gun. Run a 13/8 inch drywall screw through drywall. Screw it into each stud top which is placed behind the sheet.
Every 12 inches, to secure the drywall, place 1 screw from top to bottom. Until you get the area drywall covered, repeat the measuring process, marking process, and cutting process. Convince yourself that all seams but they’re tightened properly. It is to make it easy in finishing the drywall. Those are steps of how to install Sheetrock.
