Well, it is such a good option for you to take a look at the pictures of the distressed kind of kitchen cabinets since they give you a bit more inspiration, but it is a better idea for you to know how to do it properly with your own hand just like what I am about to show.
As a start, you want to prepare the tools and materials needed, including a screwdriver, drop cloth, sandpaper, latex primer, latex paint, paintbrush, keys, chain, and polyurethane. Use the screwdriver to unscrew the cabinet doors and you could put them down on a drop cloth. Use the sand lightly to finish things, but make sure you do not need to completely strip the surface. Apply a layer of latex primer on the surface of the cabinets and give them times to dry before applying a coat of latex paint. Then, use a paintbrush to spat a darker shade of latex paint onto the cabinetry, but do not forget to use some old keys scratch the cabinetry so there will be no more old paints around the surface. What is next, guys?
Simply strike the cabinetry with a chain to create distress marks. Then, finish things off with two coats of polyurethane before reattaching the doors of the cabinet.
